AphA and Fed-IP are very pleased to announce their agreement for AphA to become a member institute of Fed-IP. By joining the current member organisations, namely BCS – the Chartered Institute for IT, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, the Institute of Health Records and Information Management, and Socitm: The Society for IT Practitioners in the Public Sector, AphA will ensure inclusion and representation of those who work in healthcare analytics.
Paul Stroner, AphA CEO, will become a Director of Fed-IP and member of the Management Board. AphA will also put forward representatives to sit on the Fed-IP committees, including the Registration and Standards Committee, the Licensing and Audit Committee and the Marketing and Communications Committee. This will enable AphA to play a full part in the ongoing development of Fed-IP.
Fed-IP is an umbrella body, bringing together the professional bodies in health and care informatics to create shared standards, bring the community together and provide mutual support. It has agreed registration standards for health and care informaticians and will publish a professional register of those who meet the standards, licensing this registration through its member bodies. AphA members will now be able to apply for professional registration through their membership of AphA.
